Tea from Ceylon is very diverse and varied. There are three major tea producing districts in central Sri Lanka, each with its own distinctiveness: strong tea from UVA, some more refined tea from Dimbula and very aromatic tea from the mountains in the Nuwara Eliya district. Due to the diversity in geographical regions, each plantation has a distinctive individuality.
Ceylon OP Ahinsa Dimbula is a highly aromatic black tea with a perfect balance of bitterness and flavor. The leaves are picked after natural oxidation, using only the top third of the plant. The taste is mild, fresh-sour and delicately spicy.
Ahinsa organic tea is produced with the tea leaves of 186 farmers who have joined hands to grow several sustainable, organic teas.
So you can safely enjoy a delicious cup of tea without residues of chemical pesticides, herbicides or fertilizers.
From January to early April, the tea from the Dimbula plantations is at its best. During this time, the air is fresh and clean and the nights are cold and windy.
The quality of loose tea is often indicated by an abbreviation. Our Ceylon Ahinsa black tea is an OP or Orange Pekoe tea. This good tea quality has a long, firm tea leaf with no white tips.
