This bread contains no wheat or conventional flour. It’s a unique blend of oats, seeds, ground flaxseed, and psyllium husk fibers. As a result, it resembles a seed and nut bread rather than a traditional loaf. It’s also an excellent source of omega fatty acids, fiber, and protein.
One package makes one loaf. Per 100 g of mix, you get 16 g of protein and 17 g of fiber. Compared to average bread, this loaf contains 50% fewer carbohydrates. Low in fat and exceptionally high in fiber, this bread is sure to keep your belly happy. Plus, all the ingredients are organically grown.
For this mix, you’ll need to add:
500 ml water
1 tsp salt
Optional: dried herbs to taste
STEP 1: Place the bread mix in a large mixing bowl and add the water and salt. Optionally, mix in some dried herbs for extra flavor.
STEP 2: Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F) and line a bread tin (or 1.5L loaf pan) with baking paper. Meanwhile, let the mix soak for a sufficient amount of time to ensure proper binding of the psyllium and flaxseed fibers.
STEP 3: Pour the dough into the tin and press the top flat to create an even surface.
STEP 4: Bake for 30 minutes in the preheated oven at 180°C (350°F). Then, flip the loaf over and bake for another 30 minutes.
Alternatively, cover the bread at the start of baking and remove the cover for the final 20 to 25 minutes.
Before slicing, allow the bread to cool completely. It stays fresh for several days in the refrigerator, or you can freeze individual slices for later use.
