Our low-lands Quinoa has already been successfully grown locally in the Netherlands for some time. Quinoa therefore travels a very short distance between the fields and your kitchen. A big step forward for our ecological footprint. This quinoa is now grown on Belgian fields on the basis of controlled organic cultivation according to EU standards.
Quinoa is a true treasure for your health. Nutritious protein, carbohydrates, fiber, vitamins and minerals are all in a tiny seed. In addition to being nutritious, it is also delicious. This white quinoa has a delicate and mild nutty flavour. Our organic quinoa is unprocessed and completely natural, grown without the use of pesticides and herbicides.
Quinoa naturally produces a bitter layer of saponin. This protects the seed from insects and birds. Our quinoa from Belgium does not produce saponin. So it's not bitter either! Compared to potatoes, rice and pasta, quinoa contains more fibres and proteins, and less sugars.
Use
Boil for about 10 to 15 minutes. Use local organic quinoa as you would rice or couscous: in breakfast porridge, wok dishes, soups and tagines. Also delicious in pasta sauce.
Made too much? Mix the leftover with dried fruit and some coconut shavings. Then you can have an original and healthy breakfast the next day.
