Basil gives you the taste of the Mediterranean

Basil has a unique smell and aroma. It is commonly known from the insalate Caprese: tomatoes, mozzarella and basil. A dish based on the red, white and green colours of the Italian flag.

Basil has a sweet, spicy aroma with hints of anise and mint. It is immensely popular in European kitchens and in recipes from the Mediterranean region such as Italy and France.

Use of basil

Add basil at the end of the cooking time to all types of dishes. Basil combines particularly well with oregano and with garlic, marjoram, lemon and thyme. Use it along with oregano on homemade pizzas, for even better results.
