These mild-hot Guajillo chilies are among the most popular and widely used chili varieties in Mexican cuisine. The variety originated in the Mexican state of Zacatecas, but is now appreciated all over Mexico, and also widely used in Tex-Mex cuisine.
The variety of these peppers is actually called Mirasol. Only when the peppers are dried, they are called guajillo, which translates as "big pod". These chili's can grow up to 15 cm long fruits.
