Our maize starch is made from organic maize grains. The result is a fine, white powder with a neutral taste. Our maize starch is organic and 100% natural, thus free of artificial pesticides, herbicides and additives.
Corn starch is used as a natural binding and thickening agent in the kitchen. Add it to soup, sauces, porridge, pudding and pastries for a fuller, thicker texture. If you thicken liquids with corn starch, they will become slightly cloudy. For a completely clear liquid, you might opt for potato starch.
Mix corn starch (approx. 30g per litre of liquid) with a little cold water in a bowl. Bring the thickened liquid to boiling. While stirring, add the corn starch little by little until the liquid has the desired thickness.
Add corn starch directly to a batter for biscuits and other pastries.
