Our organic ghee is made with the greatest care. The butter for this ghee comes from grass fed cows. Our ghee is produced artisanal on a weekly basis with respect for the traditional Aryuvedic principles.
First, organic butter is boiled for hours. This allows the water in the butter to evaporate and all impurities are removed. This leaves 3 layers: whey protein, liquid fat and casein particles. The layer of whey protein is scraped off and the fat is poured off. This leaves only pure clarified butter: the ghee.
In Aryuvedic medicine, ghee is known for its healthy and healing properties. According to the Aryuveda, ghee would ensure a better balance between body and mind and a good digestion. Moreover, this ghee is certified lactose free.
Ghee has a very high smoking point. You can heat it at a high temperature without releasing harmful substances. Ghee is therefore an excellent choice for baking, roasting, sautéing or even frying. Our ghee has a soft smell of butter and hazelnut and a delicious, culinary taste.
Use it as an alternative to butter or oil in wok dishes and curries, to sauté vegetables, in salad dressings and marinades, over popcorn or even in sweet pastries. Ghee is also a nutritious alternative to butter or margarine on your sandwich.
