The gaiwan, a traditional Chinese tea cup, is an essential tool for the true tea lover. Our gaiwan, which means "cup with lid," is a versatile and elegant way to brew tea according to Gong fu cha, the respected Chinese brewing method.
Specially designed for easy one-handed operation, our gaiwan offers an effortless tea brewing experience. It was manufactured from high-quality white porcelain. Thus, we guarantee pure tea taste. This material does not absorb odors or flavors, giving you a fresh and authentic experience for any tea.
Our gaiwan is also designed for both convenience and durability. It can safely go into the dishwasher, which ensures easy cleaning.
At 100 ml, it is perfect for individual use or sharing with a loved one.
Pour freshly boiled water into the gaiwan and cup to preheat them.
Add the dry tea leaves to the gaiwan. Carefully pour the water in circular motions along the rim so as not to touch the leaves directly.
Place the lid and allow the tea to infuse. The infusion time varies by tea type.
Use thumb and middle finger to hold the gaiwan, and index finger to slightly tilt the lid to allow the tea to come out without the leaves escaping.
Our gaiwan is ideal for multiple infusions. Leave the leaves in the gaiwan, but make sure all the water has been poured out after each infusion and do not replace the lid to prevent stalling.
