The rare Penja pepper is a unique pepper that is traditionally harvested by hand from pepper lianas. The rich soil and humid climate of Cameroon provide the ideal cultivation conditions for pepper. After harvest, the Penja pepper is smoked above a beech fire. The result is a delicious white pepper with a complex, warm and smoky flavour
Use Penja pepper on game, beef and pork or on fish. Grind the peppercorns before use in a peppermill. Whole peppercorns retain their flavour longer than ground pepper.
Whole white Penja peppercorns.
