This Korean bamboo salt is sea salt roasted in bamboo stalks. The sea salt is heated at 1000-1500°C. This makes this sea salt extremely alkaline. Korean bamboo salt has a pH value of 9.9. while common kitchen salt has a pH value of approx. 7. Korean bamboo salt has a very salty taste. The texture is fine, like icing sugar.
Use this Korean bamboo salt in Korean preparations with millet or rice. Korean bamboo salt is also the salt par excellence for salting raw vegetables.
