A unique background
The origins of Russian Caravan tea lie in the historic trade routes that connected China, via India, to Russia. These routes were essential not only for trade, but also for cultural exchanges. The unique smoky flavor of this tea is attributed to the many campfires along these routes, which the tea came into contact with during the long journeys. In the 18th century - when these trade routes flourished - transporting green tea was not ideal because of the loss of flavor over long periods of time. This created the need for a stronger black tea blend that retained its flavor longer.
A powerful, full-bodied black tea
The flavor of this tea is unique and complex, with notes of copper and metal, a slightly smoky character, and a powerful, sweet aftertaste that lingers for a long time. This tea offers a rich and immersive experience, perfect for lovers of strong flavors.
For best results, the western brewing method is recommended. Use 12 grams of tea per liter of water. The water should have a temperature of about 95°C. Allow the tea to steep for two minutes; this may be longer depending on your taste preference.
Note; it is important not to stir to prevent the release of bitterness. This ensures that the subtle flavors and aromas of the tea are at their best.
