Assam is a province located in the far north-east of India. It is the largest tea producing region in India and indeed the world. On the steep mountains surrounding the wide Brahmaputra River are more than 2,000 tea plantations. Assam tea is generally strong, spicy tea.
Enjoy this full-bodied, beautifully balanced black Assam tea with a spicy character. The beautiful, regularly shaped tea leaves are brown with many light dots. This Assam tea comes from the higher elevation tea plantations that have been providing exceptional good qualities of loose black Assam tea since time immemorial.
The quality of loose tea is often indicated by an abbreviation. Our black tea Assam bio is an SFTGFOP tea: that stands for "Super Finest Tippy Golden Flowery Orange Pekoe " of the first quality.
This is the highest quality possible and indicates whole, young tea leaves with light ends.
