Cream of tartar is a byproduct of wine production. It is created when tartaric acid, which is naturally present in grapes, reacts with potassium in wine and precipitates as a white powder. In addition to bicarbonate and cream of tartar, our tartar baking powder also contains cornstarch. This ensures that the baking powder does not clump under the influence of moisture.
1 tsp of tartar baking powder is equal to 1 tsp of baking powder or 1/3 tsp of baking soda.
